Sorry for the absence! Do any of you ever go through times where you have to just be quiet for a while? Well, I was going through a time like that last week. Thank you for bearing with me and I hope you all have been well! How was your Mother’s Day? I actually stayed on track with my eating all weekend and had my one cheat meal of eggplant parmesan on Friday (which was delicious!) Since my challenge group began, I’ve lost 7 pounds! Then I woke up today bright eyed and bushy tailed at 1:45 am and as the very long day went on, ended up eating too many carbs and too many nuts. Because that’s what you do when you finally break a weight loss plateau right? You take the day off and eat what you want. Haha! Anyway, it is what it is. Moving on.

This morning was a very early session on extreme yoga.

Lean, Mean, and Squeaky Clean Challenge!

I can’t believe I didn’t share with you my latest baking fail last night!

Cookies, not meat.

Well…….what had happened was….

We started out making slime.

But then I shared it on Facebook and was quickly notified that I was likely burning my child’s skin….

So we cleaned everything up and decided to bake sugar cookies instead. The only thing is, I don’t have any sugar in the house and I can’t bake! Like, at all!

So instead of white sugar I used organic light brown sugar which I use for Jason’s oatmeal. Then I made sure to check the recipe backward and forward because the only powdery ingredients it called for were baking powder and baking soda. Aren’t cookies supposed to have flour or something???

Anyway, that’s what led to the amazing piece of work you see above……

Onto today’s food and workout.

My food was almost the same as yesterday, I just had oatmeal instead of quinoa for breakfast and lunch. My workout was yet another humbling session of Extreme Pilates.

It’s Sunday and it’s the last day of the month!

I love when the first of the month lands on Monday, DOUBLE new beginnings!

In the comments section the past few days Sarah, Anne, and I have been discussing going one week sugarless. Let’s do it! I quit sugar back in October and have not looked back once because it feels SO amazing! It really is the sugar (and our society) that makes you think we need the sugar! I remember writing this post  and being so nervous. I didn’t even share it on social media or anything because I didn’t want too many people to see it in case I failed miserably. Quitting isn’t for everyone, but for those of us that it IS for, life is so great without it, the thought of adding it back in is literally nauseating.

So now that I have made every sugar lover feel terrible, anyone up for a sugarless challenge? Haha!

I’m back!

How’s everyone doing? Good I hope! But if not, the good thing is that you can just jump right back in. 🙂

Lean, Mean, and Squeaky Clean Challenge!

Today I finished The Master’s Hammer and Chisel!!! Yay! No break though, jumping into 21 Day Fix tomorrow. I finally figured out how I will do the containers while keeping a vegan diet. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, the 21 Day Fix is a Beachbody program where you use a portion control container system for your meals and then do the 21 Day Fix Workouts……..for 21 days haha. I will of course keep you posted on how this goes. Portion control is definitely not my forte.

 

Today’s food! This is not the 21 Day fix stuff, I am starting that tomorrow. Workout was The Master’s Hammer and Chisel: Hammer Power. All done!

Good Evening Fair Madens 😉

I meant to share this with you Sunday but forgot. Check out Jason’s second weekend cheat. We went out to Applebee’s Friday night and that was supposed to be our cheat but then Jason decided he was going to cheat on Saturday night too. Here is his cheat “meal”. It’s amazing.

  • 6 cheese sticks (the breaded ones)
  • 4 blueberry Eggo waffles with syrup.
  • A chicken bisquit
  • Huge bowl of Fruity Pebbles
  • Powerade Zero haha!
  • Strawberry Banana V8

Haha! I laugh but I’ve totally eaten meals like this…….pizza and donuts come to mind…..

In another life of course….. 😉

Tuesday! How is everyone doing? I think everyone is feeling better? Melanie I know you said a stomach bug hit your house. Ugh, hope everyone is doing ok now. xoxox

So you know my nutty “cereal” (berries, nuts, almond or cashew milk). Well Anne’s been eating it and she sent me this pic….

SLICED ALMONDS!

I usually use whole. So today when I was at Costco I got the sliced ones and cherries!!! I have been craving cherries for literally weeks. Cherries + Sliced Almonds = My snack for the next several weeks 🙂

So good!!! I love the texture of the sliced almonds. And I just love that pic of Anne with her kombucha haha! It has nothing to do with the snack.

Here is Anne’s pic of the Kombucha that we both love. Since I quit sugar, I have to make sure to read the label because some of them do have it but there are quite a few that don’t! The Lavender Love and Strawberry Serenity are amazing! I haven’t tried the others yet.

Anne also found these chips that are just potatoes, salt, and coconut oil if you are looking for a cleaner cheat!

I have been up forever! Haha! Anna got up at 3:30am and stayed awake for 2 hours. After she finally went back to sleep, I just got up for the day. I’m ok, just 99% caffeine.

I cannot express to you the delight I felt reading all of your comments from the weekend posts. You ladies are absolutely blowing this challenge away. I love that we are already getting results 2 weeks in and all of you are killing me with your mindset. ROCK freaking Stars. Gah! (as Anne says lol)

Here are some of our food and fitness stuff!

Here’s Sarah’s BCAA’s and she made the coconut flaxseed bread that Christine gave her the recipe for!

Anne made clean pork fried rice! You and Sarah are so good at making faux restaurant food!

Christine made this amazing pesto chicken casserole with cauliflower rice and then these chocolate nutty treats made with just 3 ingredients. Nut butter, coconut oil, and chocolate protein powder sweetened with stevia. Yummy!

Then here is my fav vegan concoction right now. Normandy blend and fungus with dijon mustard and flaxseed. 🙂

How was the start to the week? Mine was good. Here’s my food and my workout was MHC Max Hammer Strength. Getting lower on my squat haha!

Lean, Mean, and Squeaky Clean Challenge – Gearing Up

Hi Everyone!!!

As of today we have a little over 3 months until our end date. Let’s rock these 3 months! We keep saying this but I really am so thankful for you ladies doing this challenge. This challenge is not just a way to get in shape for summer for me, it is a way to train my mind to do what I set out to do as well. That fact the way hold each other accountable everyday while constantly encouraging one another has proven to be paramount. I thank God for you ladies and I love what we are doing here.

To gear up for the week, let’s answer these questions:

What is your “Why” in doing this challenge? (I know we already stated it but we have to remind ourselves!)

What are some things you learned these past few weeks that you can take with you moving forward?

Also, here are 3 superset workouts that can be done in 30 minutes for Melanie, You are doing awesome girl! Hope these help.

Do 3 supersets of each with 10-12 reps. You can do weights Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and then cardio Tuesday and Thursday. Just an idea.

Legs:
(Dumbbells or barbell)
Squats/Dead lift
Walking lunges (no superset, just 3 sets)
Sumo squat/leg curl

Back:
Pullups
Wide grip cable pulldown/Seated row
Close grip cable pulldown/ Seated close grip row

Shoulders:
(all dumbbells)
Overhead press/Upright row
Bent over rear delt fly/Front raise
Arnold press/lateral raise

Hi Friends!

It’s that time again! What did you eat today? What did you do today? Hope all went well and goals were crushed!

Lean, Mean, and Squeaky Clean Challenge!

She said she didn’t eat any but look at the beautiful cake and cupcakes Sarah made!

The cake is made with coconut oil, grass fed milk, “00” flour, organic eggs and sugar.The icing is grass fed butter, organic sugar, and imported dutch coaco. Wow!!!

Here’s my food…

And for my workout I did another short cardio workout from The 20″s on BB On Demand. These things are great!

I am still really liking the vegan diet but today I had a headache. I’m wondering if it’s the same kind of thing as when I tried keto. In the beginning, your body has to adjust to the new way of eating and metabolizing. Who knows but I hope it doesn’t continue. Other than today’s headache my experience has been great so far!
